Oxan Energy and SNOW have won Estonia’s first floating offshore wind tender.
They will jointly develop the 900-MW capacity Saare 1 project in the zone of the same name Saare 1, 60 km offshore the island of Saaremaa in the Baltic Sea, in a water depth up to 85 m.
Oxan is a specialist wind energy developer; SNOW is a financial advisor that supports renewable power generation projects.
The consortium will initially perform an environmental impact assessment. The water depth could enable a combination of floating and bottom-fixed technologies, Oxan said.
Saare 1 should be commissioned in 2033.
