OSLO/ROTTERDAMIberdrola has contracted Havfram to install 21 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines at its 315-MW Windanker offshore wind project in the German sector of the Baltic Sea.

One of Havfram’s newbuild NG20000X-HF wind turbine installation vessels will provide transport and installation (T&I) services, with the program due to start in summer 2026.

Van Oord will be responsible for T&I of the project’s 21 XL monopiles and transition pieces and for the design, supply and installation of the inter-array cable grid.

The upgraded heavy-lift installation vessel Svanen will manage the monopile/transition piece scope, having previously worked on other projects in the region (Baltic 2, Arkona, Danish Kriegers Flak and Baltic Eagle).

Van Oord ‘s cable-lay vessel Nexus will install the 29 km of inter-array cables, with trencher Dig-It burying the cables to the required depth.
