DILLINGEN, Germany — EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg (EnBW) has completed a 15-year, 50-MW power purchase agreement with Stahl Holding Saar (SHS) for the He Dreiht wind farm in the German North Sea.

He Dreiht, 90 km north of Borkum, is due to start operations in late 2025 with an output of 960 MW. SHS’ steel manufacturing subsidiaries Saarstahl and Dillinger will receive about 200 GW annually to reduce emissions from steel production.

Dillinger Group subsidiary Steelwind Nordenham is also manufacturing the monopiles for the 64 wind turbines, which will be spread out across a 63-sq-km area. The monopiles will each be 70 m tall, with a diameter of 9.2 m and weigh up to 1,300 t.

The heavy plate for the monopiles, also supplied by Dillinger, has been developed specifically to withstand harsh offshore wind conditions.
