PARIS/NEW YORK  TotalEnergies, in partnership with Corio Generation and Rise Light & Power, have committed to the joint development of the Attentive Energy offshore wind project offshore the states of New York and New Jersey.

Corio, an offshore wind developer, and Rise, a New York-based electricity producer, took respective stakes of 27.7% and 16.3% in the project, and Rise will also contribute its assets and interconnection capabilities in New York City.

TotalEnergies, which retains a 56% stake, has also received a total cash consideration of $420 million. The company had secured 100% of maritime lease OCS-A 0538 at the New York Bight auction in February 2022.

Attentive Energy is targeting more than 3 GW of offshore wind power at a location 54 miles from New York State and 42 miles from New Jersey.

Rise will manage the interconnection at its Ravenswood generating station and also start the process of retiring the facility’s gas generators. The site will be converted to a green energy hub where Attentive Energy will house its operations and maintenance activities.

Corio has more than 30 GW of offshore wind under development in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.

Vincent Stoquart, senior vice president of renewables at TotalEnergies, said, “This partnership reinforces TotalEnergies’ capacity to actively develop its presence in the US renewables space where the company has a 25-GW portfolio of projects in operation or development, including 4 GW in offshore wind.”
