Partnership develops method for loading out heavy wind farm structures

CAPELLE AAN DEN IJSSEL, the Netherlands – Roll Group and Hebetec Engineering have developed a patented process for load-outs of large and heavy offshore wind farm components.

The FoWeLo solution employs gantry, mooring and ballasting equipment from Roll Group, and strandjacks and APS skidding equipment provided by Hebetec Engineering.

The duo developed the process to address the high cost and port logistics constraints of launching floating offshore wind foundations. They system is designed to be fully containerized, with no restrictions due to tidal effects.

That in turn is said to simplify mobilization with low CO2 emissions ensured through use of seawater as a counterweight.
