OSLO, Norway — TGS is conducting the first LiDAR buoy measurement campaign in Norwegian waters to support future offshore wind developments.

The system, located in the Utsira Nord zone in the North Sea, is equipped with sensors for wind, metocean and environmental measurements.

Norway’s government is offering three floating wind project areas in the region under the country’s first floating wind lease round.

Winners of this and the Sørlige Nordsjø fixed foundation lease area should be announced by year-end 2023.
