LONDON – bp is seeking innovative ideas and new collaborations relating to offshore wind.
The company has launched three separate calls for assistance with its future ambitions for the sector. It is looking for potential collaborators with new ideas, from individuals to large-scale organizations, and at any level of maturity.
It has stressed the need for sustainability in the development and operation of its offshore wind projects, and it is interested in any concepts that might help eliminate waste and pollution in offshore wind, or assist with recycling materials.
Another focus is on systems integration. Offshore wind can potentially be further integrated within the wider energy system, so bp is open to ideas concerning increased flexibility and balance supply and demand of offshore wind energy.
Finally, the company aims to enhance biodiversity and implement nature-based solutions where we work, so solutions to further this and mitigate the potential negative effects of offshore wind are also welcomed.
