PEMBROKE DOCK, UK — Welsh Ministers have granted consent with deemed planning permission to Blue Gem Wind to construct and operate the Erebus project, Wales’ first planned floating offshore wind farm.
The location is 40 km from the Pembrokeshire coast in the Celtic Sea.
It follows the recent decision by Natural Resources Wales to provide the joint venture between TotalEnergies and Simply Blue Group a marine license.
Erebus, due to be commissioned in 2026, will accommodate next-generation wind turbines on floating platforms. It is named after the ship built in 1826 in Pembroke Dock.
