INPEX takes stake in Moray East wind farm

INPEX has acquired a 16.7% interest in the Moray East wind farm, 22 km from Scotland’s Moray East coast in the UK central North Sea.

Ocean Winds announced that Moray East achieved its full contracted output of 900 MW to the UK National Transmission Grid in early April 2022.

TOKYO, Japan — INPEX has acquired a 16.7% interest in the Moray East wind farm, 22 km from Scotland’s Moray East coast in the UK central North Sea.

It follows a transaction between Mitsubishi subsidiary Diamond Generating Europe (DGE) and INPEX Renewable Energy Europe.

The 950-MW Moray East offshore wind farm started operations in April 2022.

Last year, INPEX Renewable acquired a 50% stake in the Luchterduinen offshore wind farm and a 15% stake in the Borssele III/IV offshore wind farm, both from DGE-NL.
