Capacity boost for North Sea Norfolk wind development

LONDON — Vattenfall will increase the capacity for its Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone in the southern UK North Sea to more than 4.2 GW.

The extra power will ensure supplies to about 4.6 million households, making this one of the world’s largest offshore wind zones. All added construction will be performed around existing facilities.

Features of the development include use of more powerful turbines and a coordinated grid connection.
