ABERDEEN, UK Equans subsidiary Fabricom Offshore Services has contracted Peterson to provide logistics to the transformation platform for the Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm in the Dutch North Sea.

Peterson will step in following installation of the Hollandse Kust Noord and the start of commissioning work, with its services comprising cargo runs, agency, procurement, warehousing, container and tank rental, customs, chartering of support vessels and chemicals and waste handling, all to be delivered from the Port of Den Helder.

Previously, Petrofac commissioned the company to support the offshore installation phase of the two 700-MW transformation platforms for TenneT’s Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore grid.

So far this year, there have been 47 cargo runs to Hollandse Kust Zuid. By sharing these cargo runs with other offshore operators, there has been an estimated 36% savings on carbon emissions, Peterson added.

The wind farms, 19 km off the west coast of the Netherlands, are due to start operating next year with a combined capacity of 759 MW.
