TALLINN, Estonia  Port of Tallinn will build a new multipurpose 310-m quay with a 10-hectare area beyond the existing quay in Paldiski South Harbor.

The EUR-50 million investment, part-financed, co-financed by European Commission, will ensure the port has sufficient capacity to receive vessels for the construction of offshore wind farms and the transport of wind turbine components.

In the large rear area beyond the quay, there is space for preparations for the manufacture and storage of generators and wind turbine blades prior to loading onto a ship.

Port of Tallinn is negotiating with various European wind farm builders to establish a construction and maintenance facility for offshore wind farms that could start operations in 2028, following a three-year construction period.
