ABPMer to assess metocean conditions for two Irish Seawind farms

SOUTHAMPTON, U.K. — Energie Baden-Wüerttemberg and bp have commissioned ABPmer to develop metocean design information for the planned Morgan and Mona offshore wind farms in the eastern Irish Sea.

The workscope also includes providing operating criteria for the wind farms and export cable corridors as well as support for the partnership during the certification process.

ABPmer will build and calibrate numerical hydrodynamic and spectral wave models for the project.

It will then apply analysis tools to develop the metocean criteria needed by the engineering teams and certification body.
