ABERDEEN, U.K. — North Star Shipping has awarded MO4 a 10-year contract to provide digital twin and artificial intelligence (AI) decision support software.

This will be deployed on four hybrid-powered service operations vessels that will support the Dogger Bank wind farm in the U.K. North Sea, which Equinor will operate through the project’s anticipated 35-year lifespan.

MO4 will supply operational data analytics and forecasting support to improve fleet efficiency, including lowering carbon emissions through reduced fuel use.

The digital solution will compile data on weather fronts, workloads, work routes and drop-off schedules to support decision-making. AI learnings should generate further efficiencies later, according to MO4.
