    Heerema to supply Empire Wind and Beacon Wind projects

    Equinor has appointed Heerema Marine Contractors as a supplier to the Empire Wind and Beacon Wind projects offshore New York State/Massachusetts.

    LEIDEN, the Netherlands — Equinor has appointed Heerema Marine Contractors as a strategic supplier to the Empire Wind and Beacon Wind projects offshore New York State/Massachusetts.

    Hereema will provide transportation and installation services for wind farm foundations and offshore substations for both projects. The agreement will run for seven years firm. During this period, Equinor and joint venture partner bp will collaborate with Heerema in the preparation and Jones Act compliant execution of the projects.

    Empire Wind and Beacon Wind will produce 2.1 GW and 1.2 GW of offshore wind power for households in New York and the wider U.S. northeast region.
