PARIS, France – TotalEnergies and KGHM will jointly participate in the Polish government’s tender for the development of offshore wind projects.

The new auction scheme covers 11 areas in the Polish Baltic Sea, with an estimated total capacity of over 10 GW. Weather conditions are said to offer strong potential for wind power generation.

TotalEnergies will contribute its experience in offshore operations, managing large-scale projects and its connections with worldwide supply chains. KGHM, a Polish state-owned group, brings knowledge of the Polish market.

If the partners secure one or more wind farms, they plant to maximize the local content.

TotalEnergies is already developing various offshore wind projects with a total capacity of more than 10 GW: of these two-thirds are bottom-fixed and the remainder floating.

The developments are Seagreen, Outer Dowsing, Erebus and ScotWind (in UK waters), Bada (South Korea), Yunlin (Taiwan), Eolmed (France) and New York Bight (US).

In addition, the company has qualified to participate in competitive tenders in the US, UK and France, and will also participate in tenders in Norway.
