The scope includes supply and installation of around 100 km (62 mi) of 66-kV subsea power cables and associated cable protection systems.

Seaway 7 expects to start installation work in 2025. The award remains subject to He Dreiht reaching financial close by mid-2023.

It is also the second inner-array grid project awarded by EnBW to the company following the Baltic 2 offshore wind Farm, which was completed in 2015.

He Dreiht is a 900-MW development featuring 15-MW wind turbines. The location is in the German Exclusive Economic Zone, 85 km (53 mi) north of Borkum Island and 95 km (59 mi) west of Helgoland Island.

Seaway 7 has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sumitomo Electric Industries to collaborate on offshore wind projects in Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

They plan to offer localized turnkey engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning solutions for submarine cable projects. Sumitomo will provide experience in the design and manufacture of submarine cables, while Seaway 7 will offer installation services.
