MONACOEneti Inc. has discontinued discussions with a shipyard in the US to build a Jones Act-compliant wind turbine installation vessel.

CEO Emanuele A. Lauro said: “We believe the US market for offshore wind will offer significant opportunities for the company in the future, but right now we are focused on delivering on our existing commitments and deriving value from our existing fleet.”

Last year, the company contracted Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering to build two NG-16000X design jackup installation vessels.

In addition, Seajacks UK Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has signed four contracts with customers in northwest Europe for between 189 and 240 days of employment for its NG2500-class vessels. The contracts are expected to generate between $11.6 million to $14.3 million of revenue in 2022.

Also, Van Oord has contracted the jackup installation vessel Seajacks Scylla for work in Europe next year. The contract is expected to generate about $60 million of revenue from the 1Q-4Q 2023.
