Ocean Winds secures pricing terms for offshore Poland wind project

The Polish Energy Regulatory Office has awarded Ocean Winds a contract-for-difference for 369.5 MW for the B&C-Wind offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea.

MADRID, Spain – The Polish Energy Regulatory Office has awarded Ocean Winds a contract-for-difference (CfD) for 369.5 MW for the B&C-Wind wind farm 23 km (14.3 mi) offshore Poland in the Baltic Sea.

According to Ocean Winds, a joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE, obtaining the CfD brings the project closer to a final investment decision. The strike price corresponds to €71.0/MWh ($81).

The wind farm will cover an area of 90 sq km (34.7 sq mi), in water depths from 30-60 m (98.4-197 ft).

In accordance with ordinance of the Ministry of Climate and Environment in Poland and the law on promoting electricity production in offshore wind farms, the CfD strike price is set at 319.60 zlotys (PLN) per MWh corresponding to €71.0/MWh (at current EUR/PLN of 4.50).
