SINGAPORE – DNV and Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) have agreed to collaborate on hydrogen developments.

Their main goals are to investigate safe implementation of potential new technologies, working alongside relevant governmental agencies to promote hydrogen as an energy source in Singapore market to support the country’s decarbonization aims.

Topics under review will include:

  • Safety requirements for hydrogen as an energy source
  • Infrastructure needs for hydrogen storage and local transportation
  • Offshore applications for hydrogen technology.

Some of the safety studies/pilots will take place at Keppel O&M’s Floating Living Lab, a floating testbed in Singapore which will be offered to the industry to test new energy technologies.

Since 2019 they have been collaborating on ways to enhance LNG for use as ship fuel.
