JDR to supply cables for offshore Germany wind farm

Parkwind has contracted JDR to supply, test, and terminate 33-kV subsea cables for the Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm in the German sector of the Baltic Sea.

HARTLEPOOL, UK – Parkwind has contracted JDR to supply, test, and terminate 33-kV subsea cables for the Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm in the German sector of the Baltic Sea.

The 45 km (28 mi) of 33-kV array cable will connect the farm’s 27 wind turbines. In addition, JDR will supply technicians, tooling and test equipment for testing/termination of the array cable.

Arcadis Ost 1 is 19 km (11.8 mi) northeast of the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and will have a capacity of 257 MW.

JDR will manufacture the cables in Hartlepool, northeast England, for collection by the cable installation contractor ahead of construction at the offshore site in 2022.
