Equinor, SLB upgrade Island Captain vessel for future tight-reservoir developments offshore Norway

SLB will upgrade the MV Island Captain to support high-intensity well stimulation campaigns for Equinor on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Why this news matters:

  • Equinor is making a long-term investment in stimulation infrastructure as tighter offshore reservoirs become more important to future NCS production.

  • The upgrade suggests advanced completion technologies will play a larger role in maximizing recovery from future Norwegian offshore developments.
