LYNGBY, Denmark – Maersk Drilling has agreed an amendment with Petrogas E&P Netherlands to a contract for the harsh-environment jackup Maersk Resolute.

A previous option has been replaced by a new contract under which the rig will drill three wells at the A15 field and two wells at the B10 field, both in the northern Dutch North Sea.

The 188-day program should start early in 2024, in direct continuation of the rig’s current campaign to P&A 31 wells in the Dutch sector for Petrogas and TotalEnergies EP Nederland (a rig-share arrangement).

Minimum value of the new contract will be around $24.3 million, including use of the rig’s Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, with provisions to potentially increase the day rate depending on market conditions.

And the contract contains an additional one-well option.

The SCR system employs ammonia injection to convert NOx to water and nitrogen, reducing NOx emissions by up to 98%.
