PERTH, Australia  Hartshead Resources has entered an agreement with Shell UK Exploration & Production concerning a potential tie-in of Hartshead’s planned Phase 1 gas field development in the southern North Sea to Shell’s infrastructure.

The study agreement will provide a basis of design and cost estimate for connecting the facilities for the Anning and Somerville fields, detailing the brownfield modifications required for the gas offtake route.

Petrofac will perform this work over a three-month period under Hartshead’s supervision, with Shell providing project assurance. The next phase would be the FEED, followed by submission of the final field development plan to the UK government.

The scope of works with Petrofac covers offshore construction support for the subsea pipeline(s) tie-in activities on the Corvette to Leman Alpha export pipeline; installation of line-of-sight communication dishes and interface connection; pipework for successive stage-wise production flow routing, system control and integration production route export options; control room integration of communications and all reporting systems with the new platform.
