OSLO, Norway  Lime Petroleum has entered an agreement to acquire KUFPEC’s 10% interests in the Yme Field in the eastern Norwegian North Sea for $68 million.

Operator Repsol Norge brought Yme onstream last year through a jackup production platform.

Production from Yme Field will help Lime’s parent company Rex Group move closer to its target of 20,000 bbl/d of production.

The field is in licenses PL316 and PL316B in 100 m water depth. It comprises the Gamma and Beta structures, 12 km apart, with reservoirs in sandstone of Mid-Jurassic age in the Sandnes Formation at a depth of 3,150 m.

According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, remaining reserves at Yme, which was originally developed by Equinor, are 9.7 MMcmoe.

Production is ramping up.

Lime CEO Lars Hubert said, “Yme is considered to be in an early stage of development…and we will use the experiences gained from Yme in upcoming field development projects in our portfolio.”
