LYNGBY, Denmark – The harsh environment jackup Maersk Resolute will P&A 31 wells in the Dutch sector of the North Sea.

Operator Maersk Drilling secured the contracts under a rig-sharing agreement between TotalEnergies EP Nederland and Petrogas E&P Netherlands.

The 575-day program, with a firm value of $43 million, excluding performance bonuses, is due to start this spring or summer, in direct continuation of the rig’s current contract.

Maersk Resolute will P&A 11 wells for TotalEnergies and 20 for Petrogas.

There are options to extend the work scopes by a total of 228 days.

Morten Kelstrup, coo of Maersk Drilling, said: “By deploying the rig for a combined 31-well campaign we will be able to ensure a consistent focus on efficiency improvements from well to well, while simultaneously operating with the respect for the continued sustainability of the marine environment that is a key component in successful plugging and abandonment operations.”
