LONDON – Jersey Oil & Gas will exit two UK central North Sea licenses after completing initial work requirements.

This follows consultations with the Oil and Gas Authority. P2497 block 20/4c (Zermatt) and P2499 block 21/2a (Glenn) will automatically cease on Aug. 29. Both required commitment wells to progress to the next phase.

In March, JOG announced plans to execute its Greater Buchan Area (GBA) development in three phases, but neither Glenn nor Zermatt were included.

This was due to the sub-commercial status at the time of the Glenn and Glenn North oil discoveries and in the case of the Zermatt license, the higher ranked, drill-ready exploration opportunities in P2170 (Verbier).

The license determination does not impact JBA’s ongoing GBA farm-out process.
