SINGAPORE – Rex International Holding’s 90%-owned Norwegian E&P subsidiary Lime Petroleum has signed two North Sea license agreements with Aker BP.

Subject to regulatory approval, Lime will acquire 20% of PLs 867 and 867B on the Utsira High.

Exploration drilling is due to start in late 2022 with a planned well on the Jurassic prospect Gjegnalunden, 12 km (7.5 mi) from the Ivar Aasen platform.

Both concessions are adjacent to PL818 Orkja, in which Lime has a 30% interest, and further prospects have been identified.

In addition, the company has the option for a 20% farm-in to PL1041 in the central Norwegian North Sea, where the Lyderhorn prospect is due to be drilled this November.

The location is south of the Aker BP-operated Alvheim field and close to the recent Frosk and Froskelår discoveries, with targeted reservoirs in Heimdal and Hermod formation sandstones. Neptune Energy and Lundin Energy are the other partners.
