ABERDEEN, UK – Various UK North Sea are supporting a project designed to allow buyers and suppliers in the oil and gas industry manage their supply chains and streamline their procurement process.

The SEQual scheme has been developed via a JIP assembled by Oil & Gas UK subsidiary LOGIC (Leading Oil & Gas Industry Competitiveness). Operators on board include Apache, bp, CNOOC International, Harbour Energy, Repsol Sinopec Resources UK, Serica Energy, Shell U.K., Spirit Energy, and TAQA.

The aim is to support adoption of industry-recognized processes and standards for supplier tender pre-qualification. LOGIC will operate the scheme with the assistance of supply chain management specialist Altius, using its software-as-a-service technology.

SEQual allows companies to identify, analyze and engage with pre-qualified suppliers that comply with open industry standards implemented by some of the industry’s leading players.

Suppliers registered can be included in tender lists for contracts with numerous leading organizations.
