LONDONJersey Oil & Gas has issued findings from its subsurface evaluation of its licensed acreage in the UK central North Sea.

This has identified a potentially significant new prospect named Wengen on the P2170 license, west of the producing Tweedsmuir field.

The study has also upgraded four other prospects to drill-ready status – Verbier Deep and Cortina NE (J64), Wengen (P2170), and Zermatt (P2497) – with combined prospective resources of 222 MMboe.

JOG plans a drilling campaign from 2022 onwards, with any commercial discoveries tied back a short distance via subsea facilities to the planned new Greater Buchan Area fixed platform.

Rockflow Resources and Xodus Group reviewed the company’s geological and geophysical evaluation, with subsequent reservoir engineering and commercial assessment conducted by the company and Xodus.

Britain’s Oil & Gas Authority has acknowledged an application for the discretionary surrender of part of the licensed area of P2170.

The retained licensed area includes the four drill-ready prospects.
