    Masirah addresses ESP breakdown in offshore Yumna oil well

    MUSCAT, UAE — Masirah Oil is speeding up work on a gas lift to restart oil production from the Yumna-3 well on the Yumna Field in Block 50 offshore Oman, the company said in an update.

    The well has been shut down since June 29 due to an electrical failure in its electrical submersible pump (ESP).

    Masirah is working with electrical specialists on starting up the ESP following onshore tests.

    The offshore Block 50 concession in Oman is a key asset of Masirah Oil Ltd. The company successfully achieved first oil in Yumna 1 in February 2020, and 2.12 MMbbl of oil were produced and sold from the Yumna Field that year.
