ST JOHNS, Canada – The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) and the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB) are seeking comments on draft guidelines for remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS).

Both boards developed the guidelines jointly to assess risks associated with use of RPAS on offshore facilities in the Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia areas.

Transport Canada already has regulations and guidance governing operation of both private and commercial RPAS activities, but these do not include the two offshore areas.

Deadline for comments, which can be submitted via email to [email protected], is July 8, 2021.
