PERTH, Australia — Woodside Energy has concluded the sale of 10% in the Scarborough joint venture (JV) in Western Australia to LJ Scarborough (LNG Japan) for $910 million.
Last August the two companies formed a strategic relationship with LNG Japan that included equity in the Scarborough JV, which is developing the offshore Scarborough gas-condensate field, potential LNG offtake and collaboration on potential opportunities in new energy.
Upon completion of a separate deal announced last month with JERA, Woodside’s operated interest in the JV will be 74.9%.
Scarborough Field is about 375 km offshore Western Australia, and its gas will be processed at the Pluto LNG complex, where Woodside is currently constructing Pluto Train 2.
