ADELAIDE, Australia – Santos has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with four organizations concerning carbon dioxide (CO2) storage facilities.
SK E&S, K-CCUS Association, CO2CRC and Korea Trade Insurance Corp. will work with Santos to jointly develop carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects in Australia and the wider region, including the Bayu-Undan field offshore Timor Leste in the Timor Sea.
The facilities at Bayu-Undan could potentially store around 10 MM metric tons/yr (11 MM tons) of CO2.
KK E&S and Santos are partners in the offshore Barossa gas project in the same region and Darwin LNG.
