SINGAPORE – Drilling and workovers at fields offshore northwest Australia have boosted Jadestone Energy’s production.

During the current quarter, overall output has averaged 7,800 boe/d, supported by the performance of the Montara field H6 infill well and the Skua-11 well.

The latter recently underwent reperforation of the heel of the well to improve deliverability.

However, there has also been some rig-related downtime at Montara and the Skua workover took longer than predicted due to the need to replace the subsea tree.

In addition, a downhole component failed to function during the latter stages of the activity on Skua-10, although in this case, the workover operation is now close to completion.

Montara subsea wells are presently shut in to facilitate rigging down and hook-up of the Skua-10 well and the jackup Valaris 107’s safe departure.

Once both Skua wells are back onstream, overall production could exceed 20,000 boe/d.
