PERTH, AustraliaJadestone Energy has issued updates on this year’s plans for the Montara area and Stag oil fields offshore Western Australia.

Montara is in production licenses AC/L7 and AC/ L8, in a water depth of 77 m (252 ft). The Montara, Skua, and Swift/Swallow fields produce through the FPSO Montara Venture.

Last year, a 3D survey was completed over the licenses, designed to improve reservoir imaging for future infill wells and to assess prospects for future exploration targets.

Interpretation work should be completed by 2023.

This year the company plans to drill the H6 well, deferred last year due to COVID-19, and to perform two Skua workovers.

Stag is in block WA-15-L, 60 km (37 mi) offshore in 47 m (154 ft) water depth, with remaining proved plus probable reserves of 13.7 MMbbl.

The well workover campaign will continue this year, mainly focused on replacing electronic submersible pumps at the end of their useful lives, alongside planning for future drilling activities.
