BANGKOK  Thai oil and gas company PTTEP has restarted gas deliveries to Thailand from the Zawitka offshore gas field in Myanmar, following a halt caused by an onshore gas leak earlier this month.

Subsidiary PTTEP International Ltd. said Aug. 15 that it completed the onshore pipeline repairment of the Zawtika project and resumed the normalcy of gas delivery to Thailand on Aug. 14.

The company temporarily suspended gas delivery to Thailand due to gas pipeline leakage since Aug. 1.

Earlier this month, PTTEP announced it achieved higher average sales volumes during the first half of the year, driven in part by contributions from the G1/61 Project offshore Thailand. The company said it installed two wellhead platforms and laid six new subsea pipelines and is targeting installation of six further wellhead platforms with the coming year. It is preparing to drill more wells to ramp up production.

In early June, PTTEP said it is working on Thailand’s first carbon capture and storage project at the Arthit offshore gas field.
