PERTH, Australia – Woodside Energy has completed its acquisition of ExxonMobil’s interest in the Scarborough gas field offshore Western Australia.
Through the additional 50% stake in the WA-1-R permit, which contains the majority of the field, Woodside now holds a 75% interest in WA-1-R and 50% of WA-61-R, WA-62-R, and WA-63-R.
These retention leases, all of which the company operates, cover the Scarborough, Thebe and Jupiter gas fields, estimated to contain 2C resources of 9.2 tcf of dry gas.
