Petrobras outlines terms for SapinhoĆ” area fields

Petrobras has submitted declarations of commerciality concerning oil accumulations in areas adjacent to the ultra-deepwater SapinhoĆ” field in the presalt Santos basin.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras has submitted declarations of commerciality concerning oil accumulations in areas adjacent to the ultra-deepwater SapinhoĆ” field in the presalt Santos basin.

The company and its partners acquired the Entorno de SapinhoĆ” area in 2017 in Brazil’s 2nd Bidding Round, under the production-sharing agreement regime.

It has suggested the following names for the new fields: Nordeste de SapinhoĆ”, Noroeste de SapinhoĆ”, and Sudoeste de SapinhoĆ”.

All three should be unitized with the SapinhoĆ” field once the corresponding production individualization agreement has been defined.

SapinhoĆ”, 300 km (186 mi) offshore, has current production of 250,000 b/d of oil through the FPSOsCidade de SĆ£o Paulo and Cidade de Ilhabela.Ā 

The Entorno de SapinhoÔ consortium, the same as the SapinhoÔ consortium, comprises Petrobras (45%), Shell (30%) and Repsol Sinopec (25%), with Pré-Sal Petróleo acting as manager of the production-sharing contract.
