MDC, Petronas Carigali get block off Sarawak

PETRONAS has awarded MDC Oil and Gas (SK320) Ltd. and PETRONAS Carigali a production sharing contract for block SK320 offshore

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – PETRONAS has awarded MDC Oil and Gas (SK320) Ltd. and PETRONAS Carigali a production sharing contract for block SK320 offshore Sarawak.

The PSC call for acquisition and processing of 2,000 line km (1,243 mi) of 2D seismic data, 1,000 sq km (38.6 sq mi) of new 3D seismic data and drilling of four wildcat wells to a minimum aggregate depth of 11,582 m (38,000 ft). The minimum financial commitment is estimated at $79.75 million

The 5,786-sq km (2,234-sq mi) block is in Sarawak basin under 100-200 m (328-656 ft) of water. Three gas fields are in the block.
