Bromwich to head MMS
Offshore staff
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Former Justice Department inspector general, Michael Bromwich, reportedly will be the next head of the Mineral Management Service.
News sources say US President Barak Obama has named Bromwich to “reform and reorganize” the MMS. Bromwich will develop plans for a new oversight system and also develop plans for new environmental safety and regulation approaches.
This comes after the president announced that the MMS would be divided into three divisions, one each for offshore energy management, revenue collection, and safety/environment enforcement.
