Brazil's Petrobras plans to start operations from P-52 semi-submersible platform in early 2007, the company says.

Brasfels built the topside. Keppel Fels built the hull, which arrived in Brazil in March. Connection of the two units, known as deck mating, was carried out for the first time in Brazil on June 10-11.

Brasfels will continue to work on the platform in coming months.

P-52 will produce oil from the deepwater Roncador field in Campos basin. It will have capacity to produce 180,000 bbl oil and compress 9.3 MMcm natural gas a day.
