Brazil's state-owned Petrobras plans to start production at the Piranema offshore Sergipe by year's end, the company said.
Construction of the 30,000 b/dSSP Piranema floating, production, storage, and offloading vessel is nearing completion in the Netherlands, where the topside is being linked to the Chinese-built hull.
Full capacity is anticipated by mid-2007, when the FPSO will be linked to six wells.
TheSSP Piranema is scheduled to arrive in Brazil in October.
