HOUSTON– The ASME Petroleum Division Awards Committee has announced that its 2012 Petroleum Industry Awards Gala will be held on Nov. 9, at the Hilton Americas in Houston.
The event honors individuals and companies who have made significant contributions to the industry in recent years, and raises funds for scholarship programs that encourage aspiring engineers.
Individuals that will be honored include Frank C. Adamek, P.E., Executive Chief Engineer Drilling & Production Systems, GE Oil and Gas; Tom Bailey, Weatherford; Dr. Warren Waggenspack, Louisiana State University; and Jason Strouse of WGIM.
ASME-PD also will honor BHP Billiton Petroleum’s Shenzi field development, which consists of three remote drill centers flowing back to a TLP in approximately 4,000 ft of water. It was the first newly drilled well brought into production after the 2012 moratorium.
