NEW ORLEANS –An updated tally from the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement of rig and platform evacuations resulting from Hurricane Isaac has almost 85% of the manned platforms and 65% of the drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico on idle.
Also, 93% of the oil production and 67% of the gas production are shut-in as Isaac reaches shore in central Louisiana.
While a minimal hurricane, Isaac is slow moving and large amounts of rainfall are predicted. No predictions are available regarding how long it will take for the platforms and rigs to be re-manned and the production to resume.
