Atlantic agrees to farm in to Aasta Hansteen area prospect

Atlantic Petroleum has agreed to take a 15% interest in two licenses in the Norwegian Sea from Rocksource.

OSLO, NorwayAtlantic Petroleum has agreed to take a 15% interest in two licenses in the Norwegian Sea from Rocksource.

PL 528 and PL 528B contain theIvory prospect which operator Centrica plans to drill in the second half of 2014.

Ivory appears to be gas prone with direct hydrocarbon indicator support. It is adjacent to Statoil’s currentAasta Hansteen field development, which is due to come onstream in 2017 and is being promoted as a hub for gas finds in the area.

Rocksource estimates potential resources in the range estimate of 55-306 MMboe. Statoil is the other partner. The transaction remains subject to Norwegian government approval.
