NEW ORLEANS -- Based on data from offshore operator reports submitted to the Minerals Management Service today, personnel are evacuated from a total of 85 production platforms, equivalent to 12.3% of the 694 manned platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. There are no longer any evacuated rigs in the GoM.
From the operators' reports, it is estimated that approximately 43.4% of the oil production and approximately 38.6% of the natural gas production in the GoM is shut-in.
