Pearl Energy boosts Thai acreage

Thai authorities have awarded Pearl Energy Ltd., a subsidiary of Aabar Petroleum Investments Co. PJSC, a new petroleum contract for block G2/50 in the Gulf of Thailand.

ABU DHABI, UAE -- Thai authorities have awarded Pearl Energy Ltd., a subsidiary of Aabar Petroleum Investments Co. PJSC, a new petroleum contract for block G2/50 in the Gulf of Thailand.

Block G2/50, held 100% by Pearl Oil (Petroleum) Ltd., covers 1,126 sq km (435 sq mi) adjacent to concession area B5/27, where Pearl operates the producing Jasmine oil field.

Pearl operates an additional eight concession areas offshore in the Gulf of Thailand including block B5/27, where the company's flagship Jasmine oil field produces approximately 18,500 b/d of oil.
