Chevron stops new Brazilian drilling

Chevron Brasil Upstream Frade Ltda is suspending voluntarily its drilling license, including its permitted presalt wells in Frade field, but excluding current P&A activities.

SAN RAMON, California – Chevron Brasil Upstream Frade Ltda is suspending voluntarily its drilling license, including its permitted presalt wells in Frade field, but excluding current P&A activities.

Chevron also says theexisting sheen on the ocean surface is a total of about 1 bbl in size.

At this report, Chevron says it has not received official notice of suspension from the National Petroleum Agency, but that the agency has posted such a notice on its Website.
