CALGARY, Canada -- Talisman Energy expects to spend $700-800 million this year on various projects in the Asia/Pacific region. Exploration will account for around one-third of the budget.
Major activities will include infill drilling at the PM-3 CAA complex in the offshore Malaysia/Vietnam development area. Talisman also will aim to sanction the HST/HSD development concept in block 15-02 offshore Vietnam.
In the South Makassar region offshore Indonesia, Talisman plans to drill the deepwater Lempuk-1 well and to sustain its program of seismic acquisition in the area.
Elsewhere, it will acquire 3D seismic data over two offshore Sabah exploration blocks in Malaysia and in Vietnam's Nam Con Son basin. In the Timor Sea off northern Australia, Talisman is participating in the ENI-operated Kitan development.
